Naked Hits

I got a new bed set the other night which is awesome! It is a satin thread ebroidered comforter with matching accent pillows. I have been wanting something red for the bed for a while now and I love how it has the gold in it! It matches the tapestry in the background perfectly! I want to get about six more pillows. I have european shams that require big square pillows and for the other shams I have I would like to get four more regular pillows. Then I will feel like the bed is complete. I still have to switch the dust ruffle though (thanks for reminding me haha) because the one that is there now goes with the dark colored blanket.

I would also like to frame my artwork that is over the head of the bed. I need to go find out how much that will cost. I haven't had anything framed before but I am guessing it would be somewhere between $200- $300. Do any of you know a good place that isn't too over priced around Chicago? I am thinking Hobby Lobby right now but I will have to look around. Sometimes they have really good sales. I have a TON of really cool artwork that either I have done or friends or family have done that I really want to protect. I can't tell you how many of my super sweet art pieces have been destroyed over the years from being moved around too much and not being properly protected. The piece over my bed was from part of a project at design school so it is part of my professional portfolio. With how much my school costs I would freaking die if anything happened to these! I already stupidly left a project at school and I am sure that it was thrown away long ago

Okay so I know I was talking all about my design project and what I want to get framed but you can't even see what I was talking about in the pic above so here are a couple pics of what I have hanging on my walls right now.. once they are framed they will look awesome trust me! I know they look kind of crappy like this.. but it was better than having naked walls! I am going to also have someone coming to work on my house this week! I am so excited that things are going to get fixed up and sexy!!!!

I put a dent in the ever lasting living room project. This is a project that was started about two years ago when I cut the windows into these walls. I got some new paint and did some drywall work along with a whole bunch of priming and painting. You can see that some areas need more coats. Red over white takes a lot of paint. I had several coats of paint already on the walls that are darker. I got a flat paint this time around because the stuff I got before was too shiny. For some reason I had been thinking about the durability factor more than the look with the last batch of paint and went with a satin finish which left me with tacky looking glossy walls. I can tell already that flat is the way to go. It looks so much better!
